The Yahara River and Lake Waubesa are the location for this year’s Send Your Legislator Down the River paddle and legislator town hall meeting. The event will start at the Bourbon Street Grille, on the Yahara River in Monona, where we’ll enjoy conversations with legislators and local elected offi cials as well as an optional meal. You can either order from the selection below or order off the full menu when you arrive. By 5:45, participants will either load into their own canoes at the restaurant, or will drive the short distance to Rutabaga Paddlesports at 220 West Broadway to launch. You can bring your own paddle craft or rent space in a canoe or in the DNR’s 25 foot Voyageur canoes. The paddle will be approximately 4 miles in length and is expected to take two to two and a half hours. We do expect to have an option of a motor boat for media and those not able to paddle.
